Visitors

• No account, no tracking, no advertising, no third-party analytics.
• One cookie, lang, remembers the language you picked. It holds only that choice and lasts a year.
• If you send an error report, we store your message, the page it was about, and your email if you chose to give one, so we can fix the record and reply. Suggested politicians are kept the same way. Both are deleted once they're handled, and at the latest after 12 months.
• To stop spam, each report or suggestion is stored with a scrambled (hashed) form of the sender's internet address, never the address itself.
• Our servers keep short-lived technical logs (addresses and pages requested) to keep the site running and stop abuse, for at most 30 days.

Politicians

Polimap only uses public records about people in public office: what they voted, signed and sponsored, the offices they held and the parties they belonged to, from the sources listed on the sources page. Placements on the compass summarise that record; they are not verdicts about anyone.

If something about you is wrong, or you are not or no longer a public figure, use the report form and we'll correct or remove it.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, and have it corrected or deleted, through the same report form. Leave an email so we can reply.
